History

We started Ranchlands Equestrian Cente in 1977, with one horse and one pupil, and no real plan, except it was all I could think up that would give me the time to follow my passion, which at the time was show jumping, where I could teach in the off season, then close down for a couple of months follow the jumping circuit, then come home and teach again, this did work for a few years, but the business kept growing, and it became too difficult to be away for so long.

So as time went on, and the years past, I grew to love my job, even more and could never imagine doing anything else, so after 35 years we are still going strong, and even teaching the third generation of riders.

Recently we had a young woman turn up, who rode  here as a 10 year old, she brought her 8 year old son to learn, she could not believe it when we brought the horse out for the lesson and it was  Pepper, it was the same horse she had learnt on as a child.

Over the years we have taught a lot of different people for many different reasons, some have always wanted to learn and never had the opportunity, and finally as adults they take it up, ususally with a great passion and immense enjoyment, others have gone on to be jack and jillaroos, jockeys, staion owners, dressage and jump riders and top pony club riders.

It gives us here at Ranchlands great enjoyment and a sense of satisfaction, to be able to create an environment, for this to happen, and people to be able to achieve their dreams and a feeling of accomplishment.
