Tania Greenwood

Tania hails from England, where she became a Instructor with the British Horse Society, and worked there teaching before arriving in Australia in 1996.
Tania actually has been working at Ranchlands on and off for nearly 20 years, in between children etc.  She loves passing on her knowledge and respect of the horses and to celebrate every small achievement you can gain whilst riding different horses. She gains a great rapport with her students and is passionate about what she can help people achieve.

Julie Bartley

Julie was born and bred in Charters Towers and is still a country girl at heart.

“My dad had me on a horse teaching me the basics from a very early age. I progressed onto Pony Club and also spent many hours helping my Dad muster on our family property.

As I became more involved in Pony Club with my daughter, I went on to become a  level C Pony Club Instructor, Showjumping and Dressage judge and have been volunteering for the Black River Pony Club and Zone 11 for the last 18 years.

I also have my own beautiful horse, TenZero and compete Dressage at as many competitions as I can.

I have been teaching at Ranchlands for a few year now and am passionate about teaching children and adults to connect with and to learn to learn to ride horses. It is so rewarding to watch the enjoyment on their faces and to see them gain confidence  and progress through the level”

Esther Smith

Esther is our chief instructor, she started here at Ranchlands as a 10 year old learner, and always wanted to be a instructor here, and after
much travelling around with the army one of her other jobs, she has now been teaching here for well over 13  years.
She competes regularly and successfully in the dressage arena and recently has taken up the challenge of the eventing ring, with her horse Ben, and after a few hair raising rounds, has started to enjoy the adrenaline rush.

Esther may be pint sized, she only comes up to her 17 hand horse’s shoulder, it hasn’t stopped her gaining the respect of her students,
and the keenness they show on turning up week after week for the knowledge Ester is able to pass on.
Ester has a certificate 111/IV in Sports Coaching.

Theresa Roberton

Theresa is a qualified pony club Instructor, and loves her teaching, to see kids improve and strive to have a better relationship with their horse, and to understand them, give me much pleasure, she says.

I have been around horses all my life, and the more I get to know them the more I am fascinated with what they have to teach us. The Equine Assisted Learning that Jenny runs locally here at Ranchlands has shown and blessed me with what they have to offer us humans.

Caitlyn Delben (Stable Manger)

Caitlyn is the first one you will meet on arrival at Ranchlands, she will direct you to the office if necessary and organise your helmets boots and  help get your horse ready for your lesson. Caitlyn is in charge of the horses welfare, and gives them plenty of attention with cuddles and massages for their mental health.

Caitlyn is also one of our returning students that rode here as a child.
