Ranchlands Equestrian Centre

Ranchlands Townsville's oldest horse riding school has been teaching adults and children to ride horses for 35 years. We cater for the 6 year old horse crazy child to the nervous any age adult, who has always wanted to ride, but never had the opportunity. Besides helping you to get  fit and stay  supple, you will meet like minded people and have a chance to interact with these wonderful animals. For most people it becomes a life long passion.

Pupils can participate in private or group classes, where they can  learn basic horsemanship, dressage, games on horseback and jumping.

Riders all travel at their own pace. One of the most wonderful things in riding, is that everybody whether you are able bodied or disabled, all can enjoy the experience.

Townsville's premier Horse Riding School Ranchlands, has been owned and operated since 1977 by Jenny & Lew Haines.

Jenny is an Equestrian Federation of Australia level 2 coach, Advanced dressage judge, Riding for the disabled Level 1 coach, and Instructor Assessor for AHRC & HEEES courses.

Jenny has also competed at state level show jumping and represented Australia at Prix st Georges level in Dressage on three occasions. Jenny has trained three horses FEI level taking one through  to Grand Prix ( Olympic ) level. (Abraham)

Lew has been a professional farrier for over 30 years and his experience in the hoof department is extensive. He is also the chief maintenance man at the centre.
